March is Reading Month
March 9, 2023
March is Reading Month!!! Are you getting excited about the library cart? We are! And we need your help! The much anticipated “roll out” date is April 16. In the meantime, we are looking to create a wishlist of books YOU ALL would like to see on the cart for churchgoers to check out. The library isn’t going anywhere, but it needs some fresh, newer books, and the cart will make them more visible/available for check out. The genres we are looking for include recent books that are focused on a particular social justice issue you care about (such as earth care, LGBTQ+, poverty, criminal justice, racism), are spiritual in nature, or that have a good moral basis or message to them. These can be books for any age. If you or your church group has a book you would like us to consider adding to the wishlist, please email Amber or contact the church office! Side note: for many reasons, we will have to be a bit selective when determining which books are best for the library cart, so please be understanding as we roll this out, but we want to hear from you! Also, the library cart planning group will be boxing up unclaimed books from the Resource room for removal next week, so if you would like to be a part of this process, please reach out to Amber. All are welcome to participate!
Read a review of our first book for the cart, donated by Pam and Rick Foster!!!
Thanks Fosters-can’t wait to check it out!
A local Richland author and our daughter-in-law, Nicole Bruinekool, has written and published her first book. Stella the Super Sleuth-The Case of the Stolen Slippers was written and illustrated with the intent to offer a chapter book for young readers with colorful illustrations throughout. The mystery is solved and along the way, the reader will experience the meaning of friendship, patience, understanding, diversity, and forgiveness. Enjoy!!
